Joshua L. Green's practice emphasizes the corporate representation of emerging growth companies, venture capital firms and investment banks. He is involved in a full range of corporate legal projects for emerging growth companies including initial public offerings, private financings, mergers and acquisitions, corporate partnerships, technology licensing and executive compensation matters. Josh has completed more than 175 initial public offerings, 500 venture capital transactions as well as dozens of merger and acquisition transactions. Recently, he led the sale of Cerent Corporation to Cisco Systems for approximately $7 billion, the highly successful Foundry Networks, Inc. IPO and the multi-billion acquisitions by Yahoo! Inc. of Geocities and broadcast.com.
Josh has architected numerous complex spin-offs and corporate partnerships and was named one of the top 45 lawyers in America under the age of 45 by American Lawyer magazine. Josh's clients include Alidian Networks, Inc., Bridgespan, Inc., Calix Networks, Inc., Foundry Networks, Inc., RedEnvelope, Inc. and Yahoo! Inc. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of California at Los Angeles in 1977 and the School of Law in 1980 where he was on the Law Review. He serves on the ABA's Federal Regulation of Securities Committee. Josh practiced at Brobeck, Phyleger & Harrison LLP from 1980 to 1995, and developed Brobeck's Palo Alto office from approximately 10 lawyers to over 100 lawyers. Josh lives in Atherton, California wife his wife, Judy, and their two daughters, Jenna and Katy.
