Andy Brady is a toy maker, artist and inventor. He is involved in building the physical interfaces for the Palpable Machines group. His mechanical/workshop skills were taught to him by Sam Mackenzie, his granddad, himself an inventor/engineer. Andy's work in toy design strives to impart the principles of physics through the fun of play. Where children get to perform an action (pull a lever, turn a handle etc.) and see the reaction caused. A central focus of this work is to educate through the sense of touch. His artistic pursuits focus on kinetic sculpture and installations based on the themes of circus, carnival and sideshow. Over the last 10 years he has worked in the areas of sales and marketing, television production, heavy industrial lifting equipment, woodworking and surveillance.
