Marc Strauss
UROP |
Marc is working with the MindGames group as a research intern for the second consecutive summer. An undergraduate at MIT, Marc is pursuing degrees in applied mathematics and electromechanical engineering. Outside of his heavy course load, Marc finds time to work as a UROP in the MIT Media Lab’s Affective Computing group, and plays an active role in the Rho Alpha chapter of the Zeta Psi Fraternity. In the summer of 2003, Marc developed software for a Bluetooth radio to establish wireless connectivity to remote biosensors. Throughout the academic year, he helped to design and build the HandWave, a wireless Electrodermal Response sensor that uses the same Bluetooth technology. Marc is currently working on a revision of the HandWave for use in Collective Calm. In spring 2004, Marc participated in the 2.007 (MIT’s robot design course) competition, and earned himself a place at the 2004 International Robot Design Contest in Tokyo, Japan. Finally, Marc is an avid juggler, and encourages all to visit his website.
