David Coyle

 

HEA Researcher

 

David is a PhD candidate with the computer science department of Trinity College Dublin and is a HEA Researcher with Media Lab Europe. His current research aim is to develop computer systems for use in mental health interventions with at risk adolescents. Since joining Media Lab his main work has been on developing Personal Investigator, an online 3D game that implements a model Solution Focused Therapy.

In 1997 David completed a degree in Electronic Engineering, where he specialised in control systems design. After that in spent several years as a software engineer in Guinness Brewery. In 2002 he completed an MSc in Multimedia from DCU where he focused on interactive video production and sound design. His final thesis 'Savant', which explored the unique aural, visual and social experiences of people with autism, won the 2003 Europrix award for best DVD/CD produced in Europe.
