Damini Kumar has come over to Media Lab Europe from London and joined the MindGames group in January 2004. Damini’s background is in mechanical engineering where she got a BEng from Imperial College London and then she went on to do a MSc in Engineering Product Design. Damini’s lifelong ambition was to be an inventor and in 1998 Damini invented the world’s first non drip spout and her exciting and innovative design work has created huge worldwide media interest. She has won many awards including the prestigious Young British Female of the Year Award 2001. Here within the MindGames Damini wants to work in creating innovative ways using biometrics to promote mental and physical relaxation through yoga and other therapies. She enjoys problem solving, creative thinking and finds the group's work very rewarding. Damini interests are in art and design and she practices yoga and Pilates regularly. She loves travelling but is finding it hard to get away since she has been in Dublin due to the numerous amount of pubs and bars! She is also trying to master the art of pool playing but having been nicknamed the ‘Shrimp’ at the pool table I think her dreams of being a hustler are over! |
